Novitec to introduce Supercharged Ferrari F430 Scuderia Spider

Written by Akhil Pradeep on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 3:10 AM

You would think that tuners wouldn't bother wasting their time with an extremely limited production model like the commemorative Ferrari F430 Scuderia Spider 16M which will be built in a mere 499 examples. Well, think again. As these leaked photo reveal, Novitec Rosso is getting ready to introduce a souped-up version of the Scuderia Spider 16M.

Though no official details have been released yet, word has it the Novitec Rosso has fitted a pair of twin superchargers to the Scuderia's V8 boosting output from 510HP to close to 700HP. Luckily, the German tuning house has limited the exterior changes to a set of black and yellow alloy wheels and the firm's trademark blacked out tail lights.

Ferrari Delivers 1000th Car in Hong Kong on Junk Ship

Written by Akhil Pradeep on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 7:26 AM

To mark the occasion of the delivery of its 1000th car in Hong Kong, Ferrari organized a special ceremony at the Victoria Harbor yesterday (March 10, 2009). In what is believed to be a 'first' for any automotive company in Hong Kong, Ferrari presented the new 612 Scaglietti 'One-To-One' to its Hong Kong owner, Mr Didier Li, on board 'Huan', a Chinese Junk ship - for the record, that's how these sailling vessels are called.

True to its elitist nature, Ferrari summoned more than 65 international media from Hong Kong, Macau and the adjacent markets to report the event. The Italian firm delivered its first model to a Hong Kong customer in the early 1960's. In 2008, Ferrari sold 115 cars in Hong Kong. That's compared to 433 cars delivered to clients in Japan the same period, an increase of 15%, while more than 200 cars were delivered in China for the first time, an increase of 20% on 2007 to 212 units.

2010 Ferrari F450 Concept
Even though we're still months ahead of the Frankfurt International Motor Show, Britain's Autocar magazine has learned that Ferrari will take the wraps off its F430 replacement. Expected to be named F450, the new V8 Prancing Horse is said to be for the most part new, with only a minor components in the chassis or bodywork coming from the current F430 that was introduced back in 2004.

Autocar claims that the F450 will be the first model to come out of the Maranello factory to feature eco-friendly green materials and several weight reduction measures that were first seen on the firm's 2007 Mille Chili eco-concept that is seen in our image gallery.

Ferrari has not disclosed any information of the F450's engine, but it is said that the sportscar will benefit from a updated version of the F430's V8 with an enlarged capacity of 4.5-liters delivering somewhere north of 500-horsepower.

The beauty you see pictured above is none other than the legendary Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa race car and it is expected to break the world record for the most expensive vintage motor car ever to be sold at auction which is currently held by a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder which changed hands for a staggering $10,894,400 USD (€7,040,000, £5,598,208 GBP) in May 2008. The 1957 250 TR will be put up for sale by RM Auctions, in association with Sotheby's at the famed Ferrari Leggenda e Passione event in Maranello, Italy on May 17, 2009.

Considered by enthusiasts and collectors alike as one of the most sought-after Ferrari racing cars of all times, the Scaglietti-designed 250 Testa Rossa was produced from 1957 to 1958 during which a mere 22 examples were constructed. The iconic Ferrari participated in 19 international championship races from 1958 through 1961 taking a total of 10 victories. "This legendary 250 TR is one of the most exciting motor cars ever to be presented in auction history," said Max Girardo, Managing Director of RM Europe.
